As the Cryptic Conservatory gets larger and our community grows their talents, we often think about how we can better improve what we offer to keep all of you satisfied and ever-expanding on what can be done within the Discord server.
The Current Goals of 2026
We have plenty of plans to get through this year, and we intend to hit the ground running with these goals as soon as possible!
Regular Discord Events
Our Discord community has bloomed into chatter over the weekly Side Quests and other events. We will continue our efforts to run Writer’s Room for peer feedback on works-in-progress, a community that has been providing quality critique for over 4 years, and meets on the last Thursday of each month. We have also recently started a Game Dev Book Club for reading & discussing works relevant to Narrative Design, their next meeting is Monday, March 9th to discuss the game Florence.
Anthology Storytelling Project – Undefined
More projects to come that will provide a real shipped credit to those who participate. Think a free Steam game that is more like Feral – a collection of playable stories – less like the Maze Gallery – a single, shared game world. While we are uncertain about solid timelines, a guide, and a schedule, we intend to iron out those details as soon as we are able. For this sort of project, we will need roles such as a Product Lead and a UI Technical Designer.
Commercial Project – Unannounced
Now, for an exciting upcoming project, this unannounced marvel will be narrative-heavy, published on Steam with some revenue coming in, and prototyping for this has yielded MUCH joy from early playtesters. Same as the Anthology project, there is no solid timeline and the details will become clearer with time (or unlocked with enough EXP).
Community Outreach
We plan on updating our website from its archaic fashion, and at the same time, we will be making blog posts like these part of a regular scheduled process for more communication. We hope to begin a social media account and build up an audience who are interested in CC games as well, both aspects sure to not only grow our community, but make us stand out together as we move forward with new exciting prospects and project opportunities. So make sure to stay tuned and be ready to share what we publish so the algorithms show us some grace once we’re ready to go!
We Are Currently Seeking Out…
To make the Conservatory run better, we are looking for a variety of people to fill the roles below:
- Production Artist
- UI Technician Designer
- Production Lead
- Emoji Sticker Artist
If you or anyone you know is interested in this sort of work, please contact one of us with any related information. We would love to hear from any of you!
Want to know more? Get involved?
We are currently voting on when to hold the Spring Town Hall in which we will discuss the seeds that Cryptic Conservatory is planting this season, explore what the community is doing, and what kind of support is available. See the Events tab on the Discord for more details.
This is the last order of business on the plans for the Cryptic Conservatory as of right now. If you have any inquiries or comments, please leave them below or in the Discord, where we can answer you promptly. Let’s continue to work and grow to ensure our community stands strong in the new year for many more to come.
Thank you for reading!
